About the instructor

                                                                            Himani Limaye was born in Pune, India. She started to learn Iyengar yoga from the early age of 16. She took training at Kabir Baug Matha Sanstha founded by Dr. Karandikar who is a disciple of Mr. BKS Iyengar, the founder of Iyengar yoga. She trained in and practiced yog in India with her mother who is also a yog instructor, until 2000 when she came to the US.  She became a member of the Yoga Alliance of  United States and completed multiple levels of teacher training. She is a 500-hour  Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher. 

                                                                            Her style of teaching is Iyengar Yoga, which uses many props such as a chair, straps, blocks, and blankets, to help you ease into the pose. She feels that there is more to yog than just practicing it physically.  Yog is not just a workout and one has to feel the connection between the body and the mind.

                                                                            She teaches yog in various studios in Pleasanton, California, including her own. During these challenging times, she is helping people by providing online instruction in group and one-on-one settings. She conducts focused workshops to improve the understanding of the 7 chakras, lower back strength, and more. She is also a guest instructor at various workshops.

                                                                            She has volunteered her time to teach at many non-profit organizations dedicated to serving the community such as Narika, India Community Center, Agomoni, and East Bay Marathi Mandal. She also coordinates the yog and wellness activities at the India Community Center, Tri Valley.
